I went to Dr. Karimi for the 2nd to last time yesterday. We have another appointment with him in 3 weeks if Lizzibeth doesn't make an early appearance. The appointment was really disappointing this time. We only got 1 fuzzy picture and she was hiding half her face with her arm. The technician looked unsure of herself and took a really long time to get her measurments. They estimate that she's about 5lbs someodd ounces which means she put on about a pound since our last visit. (Don't forget Lizzibeth! We're shooting for no more than 7lbs!) Dr. Karimi received a phone call on his cell while he was doing the ultrasound and just left the room. The technician started to clean me up so I assumed "Well, I guess we're done for today then." Argh. They also didn't change my due date to July 13, even after Dr. Yung spoke with Dr. Karimi about it. I'm just glad that Dr. Karimi isn't my primary OB.
We had our last birth class yesterday where we learned about the different medicinal options available to us at Huntington. I have no idea what I want to do in terms of my birth plan now. They tell you the pros and cons in for both natural and medicated birth. Of course a natural birth has the least amount of side effects for baby because there aren't any drugs introduced, but what about the pain?? And it's not like the the labor is only for a few hours. They say on average for a first time birth, labor lasts 18 hours! I think we'll just wait to see how things go...
