CAUTION: POOP TALK AHEAD
Ellie went on the toilet this morning! She usually poops in the morning while we're getting ready, but this morning, she pointed to her tushy and said "poop" which we took to mean she pooped and wanted her diaper changed. Will took her to her room to change her and a few minutes later he calls me over.
I see them in the bathroom with a book (so cute!) and she had peed and pooped in the toilet like a big girl! Apparently what happened was he put her on the changing table and she didn't poop, but kept saying "poop". So he took her to the toilet to see what would happen and she just peed and started pooping!
I had been meaning to buy her a potty seat, but kept putting it off because I thought we had plenty of time. But now...

Thanksgiving weekend
We had our first Thanksgiving weekend at home this year. Thanksgiving dinner itself was small, just us plus Jesse & his classmate. We had a turkey roast (boneless dare & white meat) that was just big enough with a little left over, garlic mashed potatoes, stuffing, and Will made a delicious broccoli salad that tasted just like the kind they have a Souplantation. Sorry, no pictures from the meal. Will try to remember next year.
Saturday was spent playing at home, making crafts with color paper and playing with rice. Let me explain... Ellie's daycare teacher said she's not very adventurous when it comes to new textures. They have a clear plastic bin at school where they put different materials inside for the kids to play with. Sometimes it's feathers, other times rice or flour. Ellie won't play in it unless an adult is next to her and "helping" her. So they encouraged us to do more of these activities at home. I took a shallow plastic container and put a cup full of rice and a few cups. She had a blast! Eventually, the rice got everywhere. We'll be finding rice in nooks an crannies for weeks to come I'm sure.
We also met up with a couple from work who's twin boys are just 2 days younger than Ellie. We went to a nearby park that has trains and open areas with picnic tables. We ate snacks, played with bubbles and rocks and had a great time.
I have to add that while we were taking these pictures, some random older boy came over and hugged Ellie! It was both "aw...!" and "what the?!"
Anyhoo... on to bubbles!

On Sunday we went to visit our doggie friend Oliver. We had a great time playing catch

Halloween Party at Daycare
Last Friday was daycare's Halloween party. All the kiddies and teachers dressed up for the afternoon and had set up games and snacks outside for everyone to enjoy. Ellie was Snow White, courtesy of my friend Jane and her little girl Hailey. We forgot to bring our camera, so these pictures are from another mom in Ellie's class (thanks Jenny!).
My division also had a Halloween party, but on Monday. There will be pictures coming from that event. Once again, we didn't have a camera handy. Sigh...
