Wedding weekend in San Jose

As some people already know, I had a muscle spasm last week that laid me out for a couple of days. Will was so great to take 2 days off work to cater to me and take care of Ellie. He pulled double duty during the day and night since I couldn't get up out of bed without support. Apparently we use our neck and shoulder muscles to do just about everything! Sitting up, bending over, laying down, rolling over, looking left, right, up, down, etc. I felt like Frankenstein's monster during this time (that's right you dorks out there that recognized the correct usage of referencing that famous monster. Frankenstein was the name of the scientist that brought the monster to life, hence "Frankenstein's monster" rather than just Frankenstein. Ok, enough of that...)

Anyhow, I felt much much better by Saturday morning so we decided to go for it and fly up to San Jose for our dear friend Pei Hua's wedding. Once again, because of my neck/shoulder, Will had to do most of the heavy lifting. And with Ellie becoming more and more independent and opinionated, it was a struggle to keep her occupied for the 1 hour flight. She used to fall asleep during take off and sleep the entire flight. Now she wants to walk around, talk to strangers and basically get into everything she can get her hands on. We had a seat for her, but she didn't stay in her seat for very long. Jumping ahead, she threw a fit the likes of which we've never seen when Will tried to strap her into her seat mid way through the flight. Needless to say, we were EXHAUSTED.

Jumping back, it was great to be "home" again. My mom and brother were home and it was great to spend a little time with them. The next time we all see each other will be during Christmas!

Unfortunately, we were too distracted with Ellie to take any pictures of our own. I need to learn to prepare better toys/distractions for her in the future. But here's a video of Ellie climbing up the stairs all on her own:

We have a piano in our home that David used to play. Ellie likes to bang on things, so I put her in front of the keyboard. She had a blast banging away at it. Perhaps we have a future pianist?
